MGB production started with chassis number GHN3-101. Therefore this is car number 19 with the 8th production line body-shell.
-- Exported new to the USA and registered in California. The car still wears the original California "Black Plates".
- The Heritage certificate confirms original colour was black, with red interior trim. The car has at some time been repainted in red, however inside the engine compartment and boot area remains original black. The Heritage certificate also details several factory listed options including wire wheels, folding hood frame and heater which all remain intact. Seats have at some time been re-trimmed in black cloth. -
- Structurally very sound and very original with no previous welding or body repairs evident, but the body will probably require some basic and typical rust repair around the wing bottoms. Front foot-wells are sound and usable but not perfect. -
Boot floor is very sound. Rear bumper and rear number plate panel dented. -
A unique opportunity to buy what is quite likely to be the very earliest MGB in the World ?
A very easy and straightforward restoration project.
Price; £ 7, 500. (UK) = Last licensed in California in 1988 and will need a full but very easy restoration and mechanical rebuild before use. Car to be sold as a "non runner".
= Car located in Chelmsford, England.
