An extremely rare opportunity to buy an original and unrestored TVR 200 Series.
More commonly known in the USA as a "Griffith".
Chassis number; 200 1 005.
Date of build; 1963 /64

The early history of this car is not clear, however it is believed to be one of a few cars sold by the TVR Factory into the UK market.
A letter dated October 1981 from the TVR factory ( TVR Engineering Ltd ) confirms the car was built as a TVR Ford 4.7 litre V8 "200 series" and registered during 1964.

Unfortunately, the original registration number and owner's details are unknown.

The car was apparently re-registered in Cumbria during 1971 and allocated the registration number; ARM357J. The car was officially documented at that time as being "rebuilt".
Since then, the TVR club have confirmed the original date of manufacture and the car has been allocated an age related UK registration number.

Without any doubt, the car has the wider Griffith chassis and Griffith bodywork from the period and although there is some evidence of a prior fitment of a larger engine, the car is currently fitted with an MGB 1798cc motor and transmission.
Having used the car during that summer, it was taken for an MOT test during October 2001. Although and most importantly the chassis appeared to be in good and sound condition, the car failed the test on leaking shock absorbers, one lose front wheel bearing, perished tyres and an inoperative front indicator lamp.
It has been dry stored since to this date.

The sale includes much documentation from both the TVR factory, the TVR Car Club and the DVLA along with a new style UK V5 registration document.
